AkashA is a 7-piece Malaysian Fusion Band that plays music straight from the heart. This band took the Rainforest World Music Festival 2008 by storm, presents a compilation of diverse music genres, woven together with a magical thread of ethnic acoustic instruments from around the globe. Their long awaited Sophomore Album, the 'Karakoram Highway' was launched on Saturday 8th January 2011 at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre and I was covering the event for their online media partner - My Tamil Channel. No one can whistle a symphony; it takes an orchestra to play it. Team Lotus comprises more than 60 great people. Though most of the time, all we see are the drivers, there is a big dedicated team that committed to continuous success of both the cars. This year's Thaipusam for me was at the Sri Subramaniar Swamy Temple at Batu Caves. Observed in the Tamil month of Thai, Thaipusam is one of the most important festivals dedicated to Lord Muruga. It is believed that Goddess Parvati presented the ‘vel’ (lance) to Lord Murga on the Thaipusam day to defeat the demons. Thus, Thaipusam too celebrates the victory of good over evil but better known as a customary observance for many to fulfill their vows.
Yas Marina Circuit is unique. It is the only circuit in the world where a 500 bedroom, 5-star hotel actually straddles the track. The Yas Hotel guests will have access to the Paddock via a purpose-built footbridge and their own entrance to the circuit.

Though drivers get most of the attention, but Formula One racing remains a team sport. The precisely timed pit stop practices are vital to help teams to turn their race strategy into success. One of the most visible things that being done during pit stop is the changing of tyres - even that happens in 4 seconds flat. And lucky enough, I was given a chance to partcipate in pit stop practice with rest of the Team Lotus guys before the qualifying begins. And that's me in the second photo changing the front right tyre of Heikki's car.
